WHY REFER
What your patients get
Susan Collins has twenty-five years of pigment work and advanced training in 3D areola restoration and scar camouflage. She sees patients in a private single-artist studio in Langhorne, books one appointment at a time, and works only on fully healed tissue with the surgeon's clearance.
Patients receive a written aftercare protocol, a direct line for the first week of healing, and an itemised receipt carrying CPT 11920 to 11922 for their reimbursement claim under WHCRA. With the patient's consent, healed-result photographs are sent back to the referring practice.
CLINICAL PROTOCOL
Single-use sterile needle cartridges and pigment cups, opened in front of the patient.
Medical-grade surface disinfection between clients; barrier film on all touch points.
Bloodborne-pathogens certification, current.
Written informed consent, medical history and contraindication screen at every first visit.
Pigments from suppliers with published ingredient and safety data.
No work on tissue under six months post-op, under active treatment, or without clearance where radiation, lymphoedema or anticoagulation is involved.
TIMING
When to send them
Areola restoration
Six months or more after the final reconstructive procedure, longer after radiation, once the tissue has settled and any nipple reconstruction is stable.
Scar camouflage
Scars at least twelve months old, flat, fully matured and hypopigmented. Hypertrophic, keloid or still-erythematous scars are not candidates and are turned away.
Corrective work
Earlier areola tattoos that healed flat, mis-coloured or asymmetrical can usually be corrected; a consultation photo is enough for a first opinion.
